Gina and I have always loved the '40s. The movies, the music, the cars, the clothing, the history, everything that made up the era of the greatest generation. One day while hunting for clothes and a gift for a friends' 40's themed wedding the idea was born. Wouldn't it be swell if there was a store where you could get everything retro you needed all in one place? The clothes, the gift, the music? 

We thought it was a good idea, hence the birth of Bear Flag Republic. Although '40's purists and Big band swing lovers at heart we also enjoy Hotrods, Rockabilly and all the classic style that was the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's. You'll find many retro products from the golden era at Bear Flag Republic so whatever you're into there will be something here we are sure you will love. Oh yeah, and why Bear Flag Republic? Well it's the flag of the state we were born in and call home, and I once saw WWII nose art on a plane called "The Bear Flag Republic". Thought it had a nice ring to it. The store has been an instant success and we have been so fortunate to have met so many who share the same interests and sense of style. We thank all of you who shop here for helping make our dreams come true.
